MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 and openSUSE 12.3 UEFI-boot?

Does anyone have successful experience installing openSUSE 12.3 UEFI-boot on a MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 UEFI motherboard?

I am very seriously considering buying the MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 motherboard, and I need to be sure I can successfully install and run openSUSE 12.3 UEFI-boot on it, before I spend any of my very limited budget on it.

I am new to UEFI. So far, all attempts I made to install openSUSE 12.3 using UEFI-boot (GRUB2-EFI) have been failures where the computer would not boot into openSUSE. Between my Lenovo X220 laptop and VirtualBox, I made dozens of attempts to install openSUSE 12.3 using UEFI boot. I did a lot of research about using UEFI boot with openSUSE, and implemented a variety of tweaks with each install attempt; each resulting in a failed boot. I gather from my research that my attempts to install 12.3 with UEFI-boot on my Lenovo X220 laptop falied due to a quirk specific to that machine. Yet, it seems to me VirtualBox's implementation of UEFI should be as "standardized" as possible, so I am at a total loss why all my attempts to install openSUSE 12.3 using UEFI boot with VirtualBox failed. Because all my UEFI-boot installation attempts failed, and I was unable to gain any useful information from those learning attempts, and I am very concerned openSUSE 12.3 UEFI-boot might not work with the MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 motherboard.

I have some anecdotal evidence that all the hardware (sound, network, SATA, etc.) on the MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 UEFI motherboard will work with openSUSE 12.3. If anyone has negative hardware-related experience using openSUSE 12.3 on the MSI 990FXA-GD80V2, please post about your experience.

I have many years of experience installing and using openSUSE (since version 9.2), so I am certainly not a Linux nor an openSUSE noob.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is not a re-post of a previous message. Although I made a similar post previously, I realized my original post needs much clarification and lacks many important details.
