Hi, Have shared a backup directory on an openSuse 13.1 machine (server) with rw permissions for any host on the subnet (192.168.x.x.). Ownership of both client and server is given to the same user name. But have what seem to be permissions problems and I'm not sure what to look for. A client machine (also openSuse 13.1) needs to be root to mount the NFS directory on the server, but after that the client user can read and write there. Running rsync from the client to back it's files to the server over NFS works only partly; if a new directory is needed the transfer fails with the message that permissions are not sufficient to create a directory. The user login and UID are the same on both machines. My hope is that this is not the intended behavior of rsync and that I need to tweak the config to make backups go smoothly, Thanks in advance.
