Best way to install as a distro upgrade from Sabayon

Hi folks,

I have the live CD 64bit (KDE) and running openSUSE now, and its looking good!!
What I would like to know is how can I install openSUSE KDE as a replacement for Sabayon KDE and:

1. keep all my stored data and programs (/home is a separate partition)
2. run as many current apps as possible
3. maintain my duel boot with windows 7

I’m sure this could be a common question and I apologise if I should have searched more carefully but could not find anything that gave me peace of mind
