Hi,
I have used opensuse for a couple of years on Desktop machines. I have got an MSI CX61 recently and installed OpenSuse 13.1 on that with KDE desktop. I have a couple of issues with SuSe which I hope I can tackle them with your help:
1. My first problem is my graphic card. I have a nVidia GeForce GT 720M installed on this laptop. This is what i see as output of lspci:
As you can see, I have:
and:
but what my system uses is not nVidia, its Intel integrated processor.
I have downloaded nVidia drivers and installed them, also pointed my VGA on startup to nvidia but start x fails and i had to roll it back to Intel. So how can I use nVidia on this?
2. I have a couple of networks that I have to connect each time which have different networks and different subnet masks (e.g. 192.168.x.x and 129.240.8.x), how can I add a "sub-ip" to my network via KDE network manager? I know the traditional system of ifup and ifconfig, but I really prefer to have this on Network Manager rather than ifup.
3. When I am playing some video on MPlayer, SMPlayer or (my favorite) Kaffeine, sometimes there is a "break" on the displayed video. I remember I had this issue on Ubuntu and when I updated my graphic card, it was resolved. Does this relate to my graphic card again? Or it might be something else?
4. I have killed myself to find farsi input keyboard on kde, but the only option is arabic. I have installed whatever farsi package I could find on Repository Manager, but no luck. Have they developed the input under KDE at all?
Thank you all, looking forward to hear from you.
And, by the way, if none of the above gets fixed, I'm still going to use this. I really admire SuSe for its stabiliity! Long Live SuSe!!
