LEAP 15.1 Home SMB / DLNA server

Hi,

I need help designing a home SMB / DLNA server

I have an OpenSUSE desktop with two disks installed:
- 2.5 "HDD 500 GB
- 3.5 "HDD 1 TB

In addition, I have a third HDD, 500 GB 3.5 "- this is an external backup for home photos, with one NTFS partition, installed in an external enclosure with its own power supply and connected via USB as needed.

On a 2.5 "disk, I have:
- system installed,
- separate SWAP,
- my user folder on the encrypted partition - user's personal files, documents
- partition / photo for home photos

On a 3.5 "disk, I have:
- partition / data with movies and music (there are also two home folders of guest users),
- encrypted partition / archive where I transfer my personal documents from time to time.

All partitions (except SWAP) are on the ext4 file system

It works so that I start the computer and my encrypted partition mounts after entering the password to the MATE login manager.

At the same time as the system is started up, the following are installed:
- / photo
- /data

After logging in, I have access to all resources, except / archive which is mounted on demand after entering the password. Simultaneous SMB and DLNA servers are started.

The following are available in DLNA / SMB:
- / photo
- /data
In SMB, they additionally provide users' home folders, including mine if I'm logged in and the partition is mounted.

To access DLNA and SMB, all you have to do is turn on the computer. Only encrypted resources will not be automatically shared.

I am very happy with this system but I want to make big changes. The general principle of operation is to remain:
- part of the resources will be generally available in the home network (SMB / DLNA)
- some resources are to be encrypted and conditionally available as an archive.

I only want to back up the archive and home photos - preferably on an external disk.

The first thing I think to do is swap home photos and archives. Then on the 1 TB disk I will have / photo and / data and I will make all this resource available.
The system disk will encrypt data:
- my home folder
- archive

I intend to archive the contents of the folder and throw them into the archive, and transfer the files used to another destination computer. So I can create one encrypted partition / archive and move my user folder to / data or all user folders move to the system partition to / home Users will not basically collect data in home folders - from this they have their computers, and backup will be upload to the archive.

Theoretically, the matter is very simple, because I know, like and often use Gparted. However, there are two problems:
1) I want to get rid of the old monitor, so server management should be remote (I will be able to connect the computer to the TV in an emergency, but this requires moving between rooms).
Control is to be done from the iPad (SSH works, I have Team Wiever but requires the launch of the graphical environment) and from a laptop with Windows (now) MacBook (in a while);
2) because the only linux will be the server, how to format:
- 1 TB disk - what file system so that in the event of a computer failure you can simply connect it via USB to another computer (Mac, Windows) or to a finished NAS or - maybe to Raspberry Pi?
- external backup disk, where I backup photos and I would like to backup the archive (now it is an encrypted ext4 partition that I can't read from Mac / Windows)?

Maybe you can suggest a different solution - although I would prefer to use what I have, small purchases are also an option.

I also have an old TP-Link router, on which I once installed Gargoyle, maybe I could connect a 1TB disk with data for sharing to it. I would swap places with a spare disk and would have 2x 500 GB on my computer - for a system and duplicate archives and family photos. RAID is not an option, because one of the disks is definitely slower, although the USB test cannot be reliable - I have to repeat it by connecting the external disk to the SATA connector.
