Just set up a new computer, and when I got to qsynth, it crashed at the step of selecting soundfontss. I had just selected everythi in the directory /usr/share/sounds/sf2. One of those, gu11-rom, turned out to be the culprit; when I renamed it, qsynth worked again. The fon in question comes from package snd_sf2 in the main repo, where the description states "The ROM sound font GeneralUser 1.1 only works with SB AWE soundcards." So chalk this one up to user error since I don't have that sound card, but I'm posting it here because it's the sort of error that's easy to make.
