Processor kernel support

Hi everyone,
my laptop (vaio pro 13) has this CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz

I've read somewhere that to have complete support for this fourth generation of Intel CPU I've to install kernel 3.12.
I'm currently using 3.11.10-17-desktop , the one on OS repo. Do I have to update to have this CPU fully working ?
