New Install, sound was working fine, but then I got around to setting up my Tritton Sound Byte. It''s aUSB device with its own built-in sound card and 2.1 speakers thatsound way better (and louder) than most laptops, and it workedwithout a hitch under openSUSE on my old laptop.
I set it in Yast and Phonon to bepreferred; if it's plugged in, I want the computer to use it insteadof the built-in speakers. Amarok understands this, but Chrome,Konqueror, and Kaffeine simply play no sound UNLESS the Sound Byte isplugged in.
So, I demoted the Sound Byte, madebuilt-in speakers preferred in Phonon and primary in YAST, and rebooted because Yast evidently confuses Phonon. No change.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to use both sound device, but if it can only be one, better the one that's built-in. Any idea how to accomplish that?
Thanks,
GEF
