My laptop fell down and won't boot no more.
I suppose a physical damage is done to its hard drive but would like some feedback on the following error messages.
I managed to boot the laptop with the openSUSE-KDE live cd (no GUI though) and managed to mount the hard drive; part of the file system were accessible, some parts were not.
Trying to enter a directory which were not accessible gives this error message:
Running dmesg shows lots of error messages (accumulated through trying to enter various dirs and/or list their content), here are some:
The inode and block entry has, as far as I could see, the same number for every error line.
May I do some further testing, run any repair tools etc, or should I just send it in for recovery? I really need some of the data.
Thanks,
Olav
