Random audio dropouts, keyboard repeats

I have a dual-boot Lenovo Thinkpad T520 with 8GB RAM and dual-boot Windows 7 and OpenSuse 13.1 on it. In Linux (and not in Windows at all), I periodically get what I can only describe as stutters. If I'm typing, the letter I type will repeat many, many times. If audio is playing, there will be dropouts. I really can't play an entire youtube music video or mp3 or ogg without having at least one or two of these dropouts. If I'm moving my mouse, it might stop for a split second before continuing. It's really annoying and makes me feel like I'm on a junky old computer when in fact I'm not. I get no performance issues on this same computer in Windows. I have the same version of OpenSuse (13.1) on other systems and virtual machines and don't experience this problem there. Just on this system. I tried disabling msi on the soundcard like one website mentioned and it had no effect.

uname -a gets:
Linux linux-h1wy.site 3.11.10-21-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 21 15:28:46 UTC 2014 (9a9565d) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
