Opensuse 13.1 64, 3.11, kde, realtek 8192ce wireless.
I've been using be network manager to connect to my home network for some time now without issue, and ethernet at the office. I recently moved to a new office location with a wireless-only network. After a couple of days of unsuccessfully trying to connect to the office network using network manager (difficult to connect, drops after 2 minutes), I finally got a solid connection using Yast/ ifup.
While this works, it's not really a portable solution. Connecting to my home network would involve would involve reconfiguring the network profile in yast every time I move from home to the office and back again. Storing both network profiles in network manager would be vastly preferable.
My question is, what would cause this different behavior on two different networks? What is yast/ifup doing that network manager isn't? I would eventually like to get network manager working at the office, but I'm not sure where to start looking for answers.
BTW, both networks are wpa2, dhcp. Windows and mobile devices both connect without issue. The only problem occurs with network manager at the office. IT guys at office are clueless.
Thanks for any suggestions.
