[12.3, KDE4.10] missing vdr in xine

I started vdr with rcvdr start and it is running.
(ps gives "25521 tty9 Sl+ 0:04 /usr/sbin/vdr -c /etc/vdr -w 0 -Pxine -r")

I wanted to control it with xine, but I am missing the vdr button in xine.
vdr-plugin-xine is installed.

what do I have to do to be able to access vdr via xine?
