Hi to anybody willing to help me with this problem,
I'm using openSUSE 12.3 on my laptop. The system is quite fresh and I have made no changes to settings other than minor installations (some packages for Lyx for example).
In order to access the Internet over the wireless network of my University, I am required to have the Sisco Anyconnect Secure Mobile Connect Client 3.1.02026 installed on the system, that establishes a VPN connection to the network where the proxy/router to the internet lies. This is all running well.
Note that I have a 64-Bit system but the 64-Bit version of the client does not work, therefore I installed the 32-Bit version.
My problem is that I am unable to access the internet when I am in any other wireless network, at home for example, that does not require any VPN tunneling (and therefore the client is not running).
But it even gets weirder: I can however start the VPN client in any such wireless network and it tunnels me through to my University, where I can then log in. And from there I am of course able to reach the internet. So my laptop is not unable to reach the router in any wireless net, it just refuses to do it without the VPN client. However this connection is not always stable, at home it disconnects after about 20 sec., but at a friends place I had a solid connection for hours.
Can anybody help me solve this enigma?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
regards,
GiToRaZor
