OS Version: OpenSuse 12.3
Interface: Tenda W322P+ V2.0 Wireless PCI adapter
NOTE: I have read many of the recent posts regarding this driver and have tried those that make sense. Also, I have been using Linux for over 15 years (OpenSuse the last 5 or so) so I am not a total noob with Linux and the command line.
The problem is that the system identifies the interface as RA0 whereas Yast wants to see WLAN0. I have actually managed to get the interface working using iwconfig and ifrename, and it worked very well. However the name change does not persist after a reboot.
So I know the driver works fine with OpenSuse, the problem is that Yast doesn't adjust to the device name, however I think this is probably just a symptom of a deeper issue, i.e., something else in the kernel isn't working properly to permit Yast to see RA0.
The compilation instructions that come with the driver are hopelessly confusing. Even after you figure out what to do once you do a MAKE INSTALL you will get errors. If you use the OpenSuse install package the above problem occurs
So how do I get a working configuration to persist after a reboot?
Any ideas are welcome.
