LEAP 15 Firewall-cmd rich rule with source port

I want to add exclusion in firewalld rules for traffic which comes from host 192.168.1.2 where source port is 54921. I tried with:
Quote:

firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-rich-rule='rule family="ipv4" source address="192.168.1.2" source port protocol="tcp" port="54921" accept'
But I've got error:
Quote:

Error INVALID_RULE more than one source element
Besides where I can find documentation with examples and explanations how to use firewalld?

LEAP 15 Leap15 - samba not starting code=exited, status=1/FAILURE

I see the following boot error:

Code:

smb.service: Unit entered failed stat
smb.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
smb.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
Failed to start Samba Daemon

and

Code:

nmb.service: Unit entered failed stat
nmb.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
nmb.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
Failed to start NMB Daemon

I tried to start manual via cmd line -- same result.

In Yast I tried to enable/disable services for smb and nmb but got the same error.

Any help is appreciated -- I am at loss, since the errors do not give a clue.

LEAP 15 KDENLIVE is not showing up fully localized

WHen I launch Kdenlive on Leap 15 with Xfce I'm seeing part of the menus in Polish and part in English. Any Ideas why?
Also on start Kdenlive compained about missing breeze icons and freier plugins - which I fixed by installing manually (by I guess those should have been pulled by package management system).
In general I have to admit I'm having more packaging related issues with Leap 15 than I had with 42.3 (where I've encountered almost none).

LEAP 15 Firewall - looking like a crazy machine

After an upgrade the NFS connections are no longer working.
Apparently there were changes in the firewall
The current firewall is absolutely difficult to understand
I do not even know where to turn it off.
There is the dropDown with the "Runtime" and "Permanent" options .... What are they for?
There is a window on the left with "block, dmz, drop, external ........... work" options, how to configure?
In the center of the screen have 10 titles to choose ..... which one do I choose?
For each title you have several options ... which ones do I choose?
Please, could someone tell me which points I should configure and how do I do this?

This is looking like a crazy machine
Please ... what should I do ... at least to turn off Firewall because I need to work

LEAP 15 Steam don't work

Hello:

In a new system I've installed Steam (193 dependencies + steam).

Execute steam is always the same:

He created me a shortcut in the desktop ("courtesy" from steamtricks...) , ~/.steam and ~/.local/share/steam:

Code:

krovikan@linux-gfa6:~> ls -aln .steam/
total 4
drwxr-xr-x  2 1000 100  19 jul 25 19:17 .
drwxr-xr-x 20 1000 100 4096 jul 25 19:22 ..
lrwxrwxrwx  1 1000 100  33 jul 25 19:17 steam -> /home/krovikan/.local/share/Steam

That by the way, in my backup I can see one symlink named bin (in .steam) that points to a bin32 symlink. And this symlink points to ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32

Code:

krovikan@linux-gfa6:~> cd .steam/steam
krovikan@linux-gfa6:~/.steam/steam> ls -lan
total 44
drwx------  4 1000 100  112 jul 25 19:17 .
drwxr-xr-x 25 1000 100  4096 jul 25 16:57 ..

-rw-------  1 1000 100  8822 nov 26  2013 steam_install_agreement.txt
-rwx------  1 1000 100 21252 oct  7  2016 steam.sh
drwx------  3 1000 100    63 nov 24  2016 ubuntu12_32
krovikan@linux-gfa6:~/.steam/steam> cd ubuntu12_32
krovikan@linux-gfa6:~/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32> ls -aln
total 4644
drwx------ 3 1000 100      63 nov 24  2016 .
drwx------ 4 1000 100    112 jul 25 19:17 ..
-rwx------ 1 1000 100  263367 nov 24  2016 crashhandler.so
-rwx------ 1 1000 100 4488594 nov 24  2016 steam
drwx------ 4 1000 100      74 nov 24  2016 steam-runtime

Now return to my sistem and let it be the backup waiting one steam working.

If I execute this ~/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32/steam (in my system, not the backup one):

Code:

krovikan@linux-gfa6:~/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32> ./steam
bash: ./steam: Permission denied
krovikan@linux-gfa6:~/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32> sudo ./steam
[sudo] password for root:
sudo: unable to execute ./steam: Permission denied

Code:

krovikan@linux-gfa6:~/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32> groups
users bin man vboxusers pulse-access pulse video lp input disk cdrom audio

And well.. if I execute the ~/.steam/steam/steam.sh showa me the EULA to accept. I've accepted and he makes me ~./steampath and ~/.steampid but act immediately shows me the error screen that aborted all complaining about:

Code:

krovikan@linux-gfa6:~/.steam/steam> sh steam.sh

If I try to copy my backup files of Steam (that runs perfect in 42.3) and when I execute steam:

Choose the directory I choose always this screen:

I notice that some friend (in a fresh install as mine) can install Steam without problems. In fact, in a VirtualBox machine I install a fresh Leap 15, install Steam and runs perfect. Is very strange.

OTHER VERSION How to setup Yast/Yast2?

I'm fairly new to Linux and have been trying to set up Yast and Yast2 in order to get started setting up with openSUSE. I have no idea how to actually get it set up and there is zero useful documentation based on quick Google searches. My distribution did not come with any setup for Yast/openSUSE (Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon), and I don't even know which of the modules will actually help me with what I want to do (literally just install openSUSE to run .ymp files). Does anyone have the patience to run me through the process? Thank you for your time.

LEAP 42.3 Kernel Oops: 0002 [#1] SMP with BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer on... with: 4.4.138-59

Hello!
This is a really strange Abend on a Xen Dom-U virtual Leap 42.3 on a SLES 12.
The machine (Tomcat-Server) is running stable until the last patches to 4.4.138.

And even this instability is curious because the 100% (and at the mment only) way
to trigger the abend is - connecting via ssh. It is impossible to get a connection -
in the same time i'll try the connect the abend appears:

Hi people,
I'm running leap 15 which I have practiced installing many times on a dell optiplex 780.it is the sole operating system. Each of the various times I installed 15,i was able to configure my eth0 without problems. Wlan0 was problematic but I was able to get it going from time to time.

Once I had got my replacement 1Tb drives, I started again and went through the procedures I had become familiar with.

I configured eth0 with yast.

Using Firefox, I can connect to my BT hub, I can see my machine, it's name, it's url and it's state of connection. I also track this on my android tablet.

So far, so good.

I cannot connect to the Internet!

I can connect on other devices on my network but not the Internet! Other equipment, such as the android I'm sending this from, are fine. Annoyingly, the windows box is fine too.

I am writing this mail from the android.

So I've done the following at least five times each. More like ten. It's been a week of head scratching.

Starting with nothing configured, I've configured eth0, nay luck.

15 appears to default to wicked but having failed to get a connection to the Web I've started NetworkManager and tried from there. Still nay luck.

I've repeated the process with wlan0 having deleted the eth0 configuration. Reboot, try to get it up with wicked, can connect to hub but no further. Delete.

Reboot start again. I've noticed now though, I can't use wlan0, only wlan1! Nothing else is configured so I really don't understand this.

At the last, (and current), configuration, wlan2 is the only one available to me. I don't really care what's called but I would like it to work.

So, with either eth0 or wlan?, I can get access to the BT hub but no further.

I feel I'm missing something obvious but also feel secure in your ability to point that out! :-)
I've had it connected with DHCP and without. It connects to the hub but no further than that very local lan.

Any guidance appreciated.

Regards

Chris

LEAP 15 Rygel (DLNA server) not showing all files

Hello,

I'm using Rygel 0.36.1 on my LEAP 15 based server to serve files over DLNA but not all files are showing up on my phone with BubbleUPNP. The cover images show up but not the movies themselves, is there a way to make them show up?

LEAP 15 Latest LTS Qt 5.9 and KDE 5.12

Hi,

My first question is: when is Leap 15 expected to get the latest LTS version of Qt 5.9 and KDE 5.12 ?

The current version of KDE is 5.12.5 and there is the latest LTS version 5.12.6 which I could successfully test here from the additional repository.

However, regarding Qt 5.9, the current version is 5.9.4 and there is the latest version 5.9.6. I'm getting unsolvable dependency issues when trying to install version 5.9.6 from the additional repository. Both stock KDE 5.12.5 and latest LTS KDE 5.12.6 are only accepting Qt 5.9.4 as required package version.

My second question is: is there a way to test latest LTS Qt 5.9.6 on my Leap 15 (hopefully along with KDE 5.12.6)?

Thanks in advance :)

LEAP 42.3 Chromium update breaks all news videos on Chrome and Firefox but removing Chrome + fixes

Videos on CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC sites froze or display something went wrong.

Going back to last good backup and installing updates one at a time - everything worked until Chromium update went in.

VLC and ffmpeg-3 are from Packman - everything else is openSUSE-Leap

# zypper lr
Repository priorities are without effect. All enabled repositories share the same priority.

# | Alias | Name | Enabled | GPG Check | Refresh

What I had to run to get videos working again:

zypper rm libavcodec58 libavformat58 libavutil56 libswresample3 libvpx4 chromedriver chromium

Videos play again - What did Chromium do that breaks Firefox.

What goes in the top box for IPv4 address Label?
I have looked in every corner of the router settings, and can't find IPv4 even listed other than in the configuration panels. Nothing about IPv4 Address Label.

LEAP 15 Connecting to another computer in my own network using ssh

This should be so simple! All computers are running leap 15. I have set up a headless server and am able to log into it using ssh. I want to be able to do the same to the other computers on my network, but only from my own network. I have looked at all the files I can find on the server and on the other computers and can't seem to find any differences.

When I log onto the server, I open Konsole and type:
Code:

ssh 192.168.3.4 -l <username>
There is a user of that name on the server. I am prompted for a password, which I enter and I get the welcome message.

When I try to connect to another computer, using the same method, I get no response and have to press Ctrl C to get the prompt back.

I don't need or want a graphic interface, simply access using Konsole.

And, important, I do not want access from outside my own network.

What am I missing?

LEAP 15 Laptop unusable after upgrading from Leap 42.3 to Leap 15

I decided to upgrade my work laptop, a Dell Precision M4400, so I followed System upgrade procedures.

All files were downloaded and installed, except one: The kernel. It complained that /boot was full. (This is a problem every time a new kernel is downloaded. I manually remove the oldest kernel and rerun the update. I don't understand why it needs to have 15-20 kernels available). I tried to delete the oldest kernel but was unable to access the software application on YAST, Zypper must have been blocking it. So I ignored it.

Once zypper dup was done I went to YAST and deleted a bunch of old kernels, only leaving the latest 5.

Reran zypper dup and the kernel was installed.

Reboot.

Weird GRUB error. Can't recall the exact error but I think it was that prompt you get when it can't find something.

Reboot.

GRUB didn't complain. Encryption password was entered and as it was trying to boot I got I/O errors.

Reboot.

Now BIOS says there's no hard drive. Run diagnostics and no hard drive is detected. I can hear the HD power up and then shut down after a few seconds. There's no "click of death" either.

I've been searching around for information but this is too risky for me to do without handholding. I have a backup but substantial work was done after the backup. I don't want to risk losing those files.

Thanks for your help.

LEAP 15 Moving Opera's lost cache to tmpfs?

Since Opera is my favourite webbrowser and I want to reduce cache writes to my ssd drive I found this tutorial from @Steve_r to move Opera's cache to tmpfs. There are four locations mentioned to move, I found three of them but one is missing in my .config file: '.config/opera/Application\ Cache'.

What happened to this file? Can I find it in another location? I have searched the filesystem but there is no such 'Application' file. Could it be renamed?

LEAP 15 LDAP setup for Kopano

I am having trouble with the Authentication Server
essentially the Configuration Wizard is not appearing and the er is no such option in
Yast2 > Network Services > Authentication Server

I have a clean install and just can't find it.

I have done two clean installs and installed all the dependancies as laid out in this article.....

https://doc.opensuse.org/documentati...rity.auth.html

My aim is to install Kopano and use LDAP to Authenticate

Mobile version does not redirect login to micro focus.

Running iOS 11.4.1 (it started earlier). At some point I cleared Safari history and since then when I press login on forum start page I get some login form where my user does not work. I can workaround it by first logging in on some other page (like bugzilla) which does authenticate me using micro focus single sign on after which I can use forums under my account.

Anyone seen it too? I can send screenshot of login page if needed.

TUMBLEWEED First tieme ever: screen flickering on wayland

Hi people,
Well, this is the first time I see this on suse tumbleweed xorg using wayland (with x11 is a common issue).
i am not sure if this is because of the ultimate upgrade, i like to watch full screen youtube videos, when i select full screen there are a lot of screen flickering in the edges of the screen, i dont remember it happened before, this has to be some upgrade issue. I run zypper dup everyday, i love to have the latest versions of everything installed, that is the reason i run a rolling release in the first place. i do not agree with some administrators here who argue that there is no need to update a system that is perfectly working, if you run the space station control computer center (a thing suse's market people do love to sell you, is what top scientists run woldwide they says) of couse you wont risk the project due to a silly mistake. in my case the only thing that will break is my pride of being a tech guy. >:)
Ok, lest get back to my issue, i have not changed anything, just did zypper dup, i have not watched videos until today, on weekend i have some spare time so i fired youtube i found this flickering issue, that i did not have last weekend, I use default login option in gdm and i login to a wayland session, i did check that, i have the env variabled set.
there is not any error in systemd journal, what can i do, rollback to a week old snapshot? I am not a 3d designer so is not a big deal, my concern is if I were a professional designer i would be in big troubles.

Not sure where to post this, apologies if it's in the wrong place . . .
The repositories seem to be down, both Leap 42.3 and 15.0. Is anyone else having this problem?
