UEFI Boot on Lenovo Q190

I'm attempting to install openSUSE 12.3 on a Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190, dual boot with the pre-installed Windows 8. To preserve the existing Windows OS, I need to install in UEFI mode.

I can install from the USB drive with the openSUSE installer (made from the DVD installation ISO image). The installer starts correctly in UEFI mode and installs correctly with GRUB2-EFI (and I've tried both with and without secure boot). When the system reboots however to continue the installation, the firmware can't find the newly installed OS.

The system boot menu does not show openSUSE, only Windows so I can't boot the new openSUSE OS.

Is this a known bug or am I missing an important step?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
