TUMBLEWEED certificate installed with java keytool gone after reboot

$

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out why my certificate imported to the java keystore (openjdk 1.8) is gone after every reboot. I'm importing it with the command line

Code:

cd $JAVA_HOME && sudo bin/keytool -import -v -trustcacerts -alias artifactory -file /path/to/mycert.p7c -keystore $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/cacerts -keypass changeit -storepass changeit
I'm on the latest tumbleweed version. Anybody with an idea? Is there some magic that restores my jdk packages to the original state?

Thanks and greetings,
Kurt

LEAP 42.3 Cannot Install RPM package - no signature?

I am trying to install the latest version of LuckyBackup on my KDE Desktop. There is an rpm for openSuSE Leap 42.3 so I tried to run it with the installer. I get the following error message:-

Code:

Error: INVALID:luckybackup-0.5.0-29.1.x86_64 (file-e3437bce): Signature verification failed [4-Signatures public key is not available]
Header V3 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 1f94d5b1: NOKEY

    V3 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 1f94d5b1: NOKEY

There is a newer rpm.md5 file with later date but cannot see how to use it. Both the rpm file and the rpm.md5 files have SHA1 and MD5 text shown if I open the i button on the SourceForge Luckybackup web page but cannot get any means of installation to work.
Any ideas how I should fix this?

I have updated my laptop from Leap 42.3 to Leap 15.0. The installation process worked fine until I reboot. Now I just have a black screen with a mousepointer, Can't get the GUI-login.

I enter Ctrl+Alt+F1 to switch to a console screen. I can login as root and also as an user.
As root when I type startx I get:

To Tame a Writer, LibreOffice Writer for Writers

is a CC text that explains how to get the most out of the LibreOffice Writer word processor (with a few pages dedicated to Draw, Math and Chart).

This book is a translation of an earlier book in Spanish called “Domando al escritor” which has a long history, its first incarnation being a series of articles dating back to 2006.

This edition is centred in LibreOffice 6.1, presenting also some of the new features that version 6.2 will give us in early 2019.

LyX, The Other Way of Writing

The book is an “updated translation” of a book I wrote in Spanish in 2017.

LYX, The Other Way of Writing explores how to use LYX to get the most out of LATEX, XƎTEX, and OpenType, presenting the tools and methods to get a perfect PDF with our work, with all the beauty that only this system can provide.

TUMBLEWEED Optirun not working after updating drivers to 410.73

Hello!
So I'd got my laptop with bumblebee running correctly untill I updated the drivers to 410.73.
I reinstalled everything following the steps from https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Bumblebee but nothing, I keep getting the same error:

optirun -vv --status
Code:

when I initialize bumblebee manually and run optirun --status everything seems fine but as soon as I try to run another program it gives me the same error as above.
Code:

bumblebeed &
[1] 6567
[INFO]bumblebeed 3.2.1 started
optirun --status
Bumblebee status: Ready (3.2.1). X inactive. Discrete video card is off.

this is the message I get from dmesg (just the nvidia part):
Code:

But in the official page it's indicated that I should install the ones that I now have installed.

LEAP 15 Frequent display freezes with nouveau after update to Leap 15.0

$

I recently upgraded to Leap 15.0 from Leap 42.3, using the GNOME shell. With Leap 42.3, I would occasionally have graphics freezes by nouveau, but only when playing h264 video:

Code:

[  ###.######] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: DRM: GPU lockup - switching to software fbcon
But now, with Leap 15.0, nouveau is crashing (and thus freezing the display) much more frequently. As I understand it, the move to Wayland from Xorg is the largest different between 15.0 and 42.3, so I would assume the problem lies between nouveau and Wayland. Running GNOME on Wayland, I hit crashes within minutes, but even running GNOME on Xorg (understanding that Wayland is emulating Xorg with XWayland), I am hitting these display freezes almost daily. And, though I can access the system through ssh and other means, I cannot restore the display without a hard reset of the machine.

Occasionally, I will be able to enter the system's console (Ctrl+Alt+F1), mainly if I manage to kill the display-manager service and see many lines similar to the following in dmesg:
Code:

nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: INTR 00800000
nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: INTR 01000000: 00000005

nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: INTR 01000000: 00000005
nouveau 0000:01:00.0: Failed to idle channel 2.

On multiple occasions, I have hit this error by opening a new tab in Firefox and entering an address, and then quickly using Alt+Tab to switch to a different application while I was for the Firefox tab to load. But, the display will freeze with the Alt+Tab panel on the screen.

As I search for solutions, I see Fedora bug reports matching my symptoms marked as closed, and feel a sense of hope until I see that they seem to ignore problems until they can close the bugs due to version End-of-Life (like this one that seems to match my experience to a T).

I would really prefer to use Open-Source drivers and not venture into the nVidia proprietary drivers for my card, so I'm really hoping I can fix this error.

TUMBLEWEED BCM43142 - cannot configure interface

Hi,
I have a problem with configuring WiFi on my Lenovo laptop with the Broadcom BCM43142 network adapter. I've installed various Linux systems on it many times and there have never been any problems with configuring WiFi. I tried both using Network- and Wicked-Manager.
I tried to install various drivers. From the packman repository, from the community packages on https://software.opensuse.org/package/broadcom-wl. Different variants, dozens of rebooted comp and I can not configure this interface.
Also used /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware script but wont help - "Sorry, the input file is either wrong or not supported by b43-fwcutter."

Some logs:

I have two monitors.
They were just working fine but suddenly HDMI one is just black now.
If I connect the HDMI monitor via VGA it works fine.

This happened before and I was only able to solve the problem by reinstalling OS.
Even changing the motherboard didn't solve the problem.

Code:

~> xrandr --listmonitors

I am desperately trying to get access to the local WIFI network, it fails with the message
"(wlan0): Activation: (wifi) access point 'AltiboxXXXXX' has security, but secrets are required"

Since there are secrets missing, I suppose it may relate to KWallet, which is not installed.
However, what kind of secrets are referenced is a secret to me.

I would also like to mention that my cable connection works (but is two floors away from my office).

Suggestions are very welcome.

LEAP 42.3 OBS-studio warning: [FFmpeg aac encoder: 'simple_aac'] (Solved)

$

When you install OBS-Studio from Packman repo (or other home repo) it will fail to encode if you already had ffmeg installed from the default OpenSUSE repository.
By default it will not force the installation of ffmpeg from Packaman.

You see an error, in OBS-studio, telling you to check your codec and the log file (see in ~/.config/obs/log/)

The issue:
OpenSUSE default repo provides an ffmpeg (version 3) which has been compiled without acc support what is expected by OBS-studio in it's default setting.

The Solution:
1) remove ffmpeg (either with yast or zypper)
2) install the package named ffmpeg-3
ffmpeg-3 is the correct package name in Packman repo. It will install the same tools as the default ffmpeg, BUT with acc support.

After the change, is you check which Codecs are active in ffmpeg you will see that acc has now ED option (Encode/Decode) before it does not show the option DE

LEAP 15 [active directory] join computer to windows domain troubleshoot

$

Greetings !!

With my students we try to fix connections issues related to windows server domain based on windows server 2012 (if I'm right, maybe 2016).
I have no administration rights on the server, I communicate with the colleague which is the admin but we can not understand deeply how we could fix the situation.

First point: the physical network.

There is twelve windows 7 computers which the half could not join the domain (The Trust Relationship Between this Workstation and the Primary Domain Failed).

We tried to configure each computers in order to leave the domain and join the domain, as the administrator is not often physically at school :{
Do we execute Newsid.exe still on Windows 7 computers ?

Notices: the physical local network is described as four hubs (? it is too much -- the network admin agreed we must reduce the number of hubs).

We have no difficulties to gain local Administrator rights on each computer (with two exceptions we gonna see thursday if we could enable F8 drop at boot for those two computers).

Second point: the Domain

The half of the computers of this class can not join the domain that must be STMARTIN.

I first thought that joining the domain is about computers and not domain users with rights to join domain, this because those computers joined the domain before being kicked out with "trust relationship...".
We checked with the net admin and all the computers from this class are granted to join the domain.

Clues: I will try thursday to check for PowerShell on those computers to help us deal with AD and this devilish Windows Server.

Questions:

1. Is there a better way than unjoin/join domain in this case ?
2. Could we use Linux system to check/troubleshoot and log the AD issues ? With which tool ? Samba ?

Thank you for your patience ^^

LEAP 15 Konqueror won't exit gracefully in LEAP 15

I depend heavily on Konqueror for reading man and info pages.
Unfortunately, in Leap 15, Konqueror will only run once in a user session unless extra steps are taken.

I had a bit of brain-fade, so it took longer than it should have to determine the cause but the process for /usr/bin/konqueror doesn't die when the window is closed. I've tried clicking the X in the upper right corner, using the crtl-Q keyboard shortcut and selecting Quit from the File menu. In each case, the window closes but the process doesn't stop. So the next time I try to launch it an entry briefly appears in the taskbar, but then disappears. So I have to

before it will launch again.

I'm getting ready to report it as a bug, but I though I'd check here first to see if there's some configuration error that could cause this.

This machine has been getting upgraded though all of the openSUSE releases since 13.1, so it's certainly possible that there's a configuration artifact remaining from one of the previous releases.

Thanks for your time and knowledge,
