Opensuse 12.3 New DVD's won't play (Solved)

I have been struggling with all of a sudden DVD's not playing, or to be able to rip them. Handbrake would just exit. From the bash prompt it would say "aborted". ?? K9copy gave more information from the bash prompt. I was getting:

property "Drive" does not exist
libdvdread: Invalid IFO for title 2 (VTS_02_0.IFO)

Assuming it was a libdvdread driver issue, I started looking for a newer version. I found it and still no difference. I could not play the dvd with Kaffeine, or VLC. I then used Dolphin to browse the drive. At this point when even it could not see the drive, I started to suspect the drive itself. So I tried a newer drive and voilla!!!

So even though the older drive sees older DVD's just fine, a newer DVD will not be seen. So they must be doing something to the physical layout of the DVD itself that older drives can not cope with. Hopefully this will help someone who is pulling their hair out.
