Last year (2019) I spent a few rather frustrating weeks trying to compile wxPython (Phoenix) for python 3 in 15.1 all by myself ... and failing miserably. I admit I am not an expert, but not I am not completely ignorant either. It was just a very hard thing to do. I abandoned the matter in frustration. just checked today and found the experimental pre-built package. Installed fast and worked without problems. To whomever packaged this: THANK YOU! Hats off and again, thank you! :)

TUMBLEWEED Fresh Install: LibreOffice Writer Shows Splash Screen, Then Crashes?
Hi,
I just installed a small SSD into my very old Toshiba notebook.
I then did a fresh install of current openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE 64Bit.
Everything is good but LibreOffice apps refuse to run?
When I run LibreOffice Writer from menu, it shows splash screen then crashes?
When run in KDE terminal I get below error:
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Jesse

LEAP 15.1 Internet browsers on laptop crashing
For several months, I have been running Leap 15.1 on four desktops and one laptop (Dell Inspiron 15-5000), each using Firefox with multiple tabs, without incident. In the past few weeks, several browser tabs on the laptop have begun to crash, often repeatedly. There also seems to be an occasional loading delay now when switching tabs, something I have not seen on the desktops. Chrome and Opera exhibit the same behavior.
The crashes occur whether connecting the laptop via wi-fi or ethernet, or enabling or disabling an ad blocker - and I've always run the laptop on AC power with power saving features disabled in KDE desktop settings. Other than allowing YaST updates, I have not made any changes to the system.
None of this occurs on the desktops which have the same configurations.
All suggestions would be welcome.

LEAP 15.1 Fresh install with new user lost previoous user's files. Can recover them?
Installed 15.1 from net on a machine in attempt to clear a printer problem. User didn't recall password so Installed again and created user again with new p/w. Did not realize that old files for that user would be deleted. The home partition was not formatted.
Have scanned the unused portions of the home partition with photorec and searched the recovered files with grep--didn't find the missing files.
Any hope? Suggestion?

TUMBLEWEED Conflict Resolution - Dependencies
I have installed my VPN App (Mullvad) on a new install but I have a small problems that I do not know how to solve.
Installing the app causes a breakage in dependencies with a conflict resolution and error message as follow "nothing provides libnsl needed by mullvad...". I did install the app regardless and everything works as expected. My problem is how do I get rid of that message regarding this conflict ?
Everytime I open YAST -> Software Management the message pops up and this is really a pain in my behind ;)

d /home/username/tmp 711 username users 50d
Was mache ich denn falsch?

It all goes along well, and then a pop up telling me kios5(?) stopped. Something asks for a restart, but it doesn’t.
And there is no ‘bug’ reporting for it.
is there something I can install, or use to do these sort of copy operations.
I hate to say this, but I’m in Windows7 doing the copy. Which I don’t want to be but.......

LEAP 15.1 Delay Encrypted Partition
I have Leap 15.1 on a SSD encrypted. it was loading and booting pretty fast. All of the sudden, lately, after Grub dissapears, the option to type the password appears, but it does not allow me to type anything. I have to wait about 45 seconds. after that, I can type normally, the password works fine, and leap loads pretty fast.
That 45 second halt is so annoying and I have not been able to figure it out.
Any help is appreciated

TUMBLEWEED Englischsprachiges System aber mit Umlauten
Hallo,

LEAP 15.1 is it possible to install the new version of partitioner in leap 15.1?
as this is a critical bug that lead to hard disk damages and a very useful thing and a coerrection of regression:
Adding Progress Feedback to the Partitioner
The Expert Partitioner is a very powerful tool. It allows you to perform very complex configurations in your storage devices. At every time you can check the changes you have been doing in your devices by using the Installation Summary option on the left bar. All those changes will not be applied on the system until you confirm them by clicking the Next button. But once you confirm the changes, the Expert Partitioner simply closes without giving feedback about the progress of the changes being performed.Actually, this is a kind of regression after migrating YaST to its new Storage Stack (a.k.a. storage-ng). The old Partitioner had a final step which did inform the user about the progress of the changes. That dialog has been brought back, allowing you to be aware of what is happening once you decide to apply the configuration. This progress dialog will be available in SLE 15 SP2, openSUSE 15.2 and, of course, openSUSE Tumbleweed.

TUMBLEWEED tumbleweed update - no longer can play videos from smb share
Have a bunch of multimedia on a NAS drive that I play over smb.
Today did a a tumbleweed update - if I remember correctly the update was dated (2020-03-07)
Since then I am no longer able to play videos (using smpalyer/mpv) over smb.
I get the error . . .
I noticed during the update that a bunch of smb files were updated as well as ffmpeg
Anyone have any ideas?
Should I file a bug report?
Have used snapper to rollback the system to before the update and can play over smb just fine again.

Found this https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-last#26033143
with the hint for
BUT whatever I'm trying like e.g.
Always leads to "Package ... not found".
Any hints would be great!
Found here https://pear.php.net/package/Mail_Mime/download that 1.10.4 would be downloadable from there, but as I'm not really familiar with php, I've no clue if there might be a chance to put the downloaded 1.10.4 at a place to get the zypper-installed version "overridden/overloaded" by the (temporary) downloaded pear package? Like "playing" with CLASSPATH in Java?
Thanks in advance,
