LEAP 15.2 ogin-procedure: Status: skip the non existing key file -> connected finally

hi there good day

i run a server on openSuse-system

i have FileZilla /(among other systems) installed to connect to the server:

the topic of today: login-procedure: Status: skip the non existing key file -> connected finally

well i am a long term user - and ia am vey very glad to have filetzilla.

at the moment i am setting up a new machine .- I saved the filetzilla xml-file to a stick

and furtermore i have had a closer look at the protocoll - of the filetzilla on my office desktop machiene where filezilla still runs well.
The login protocoll notes the following - among others....

Code:

Status: skip the non existing key file
"E:\20190717_of\_user_\___\putty_key_\private_key.ppk"
Status:        Connected to www2.mydomain.com

well that is very very interesting - i wonder why this is so.

#questions: do i have some login process that makes it not (!) necsarry to refer to a ppk-file!?
i remember that we have different procedures and that there different methods of authentification exist -can you clear up some things here!`?

guess that i need some more overview on the optons we have with FileZilla.

look forward to hear from you

I install Bumblebee form here https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Bumblebee with Bumblebee repo for 15.1, and it work, but Bumblebee NVIDIA driver are 440, and it don't support my card.
What is my options on using full potential of the laptop. My setup is laptop connected to external monitor. The problem is that when i am using Mozilla in YouTube, every clip is taking 95% CPU usage and clip skip and stop from time to time. So I think that whit using of NVIDIA card for visualization the work is go smoother.

I login to the GOG games website: gog.com

I click new message and then enter it. I click on post message. In that click icon space, I get overlapping messages, 'please wait processing...' and 'image'. Then 10mins later it's still stuck. The forum still doesn't show the message.

I can post elsewhere; I was able to add a few wishes to the wish list.

FYI, I turned off all add-ons and the bug still happens.

Hallo,

How to add -lm flag in cmake in spec file?

Hello,

I have been trying to build tinyspline with cmake on Tumbleweed.
https://build.opensuse.org/package/s...eat/tinyspline

I encounter error:

Code:

[    5s] /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/9/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld: /tmp/libtinyspline.so.FCXWuN.ltrans0.ltrans.o: in function `ts_distance':

[    5s] collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

It is complaining about undefined reference to `sqrt' and `pow'
I found that I have to add link flag -lm, which told gcc to use math library.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-pow-and-floor

But I think I was adding it the wrong way, which still cause the same error.
Code:

%prep
%autosetup -n %{name}-%{version}

%build
%cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=%{_prefix} \
      -DCMAKE_LD_FLAGS:STRING="%optflags -lm" \
      -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS:STRING="%optflags -lm" \

%cmake_build

%install

LEAP 15.1 WiFi setup lost after reboot or shutdown

Setting up WiFi was originally painless and has worked since I installed Leap around June of last year. Now, for some reason, during a system update no less, the system will not connect to the router (FIOS on the 2.4 GHz band) after a reboot or shutdown. The last update seemed to cause the problem. I can setup WiFi an the morning to use the system during the day but not connect after a reboot.

Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) made by TP Link (IIRC). We have a 100 Mbps FIOS setup from Verizon. Phones and tablet are fine. This PC runs an AMD 8320E CPU on an AMD 760 uATX mainboard. Everything else seems to work. I tried a USB stick temporarily but I'm too far away from the router to use those as this setup uses a larger antenna for extra gain across our apartment.

I looked at the libraries associated with Yast and noticed that Yast-online-update-configuration is showing as deprecated (red) on the list generated by Yast during a lookup. That's the only odd thing I can find.

Should I have filed a bug report? Has anyone else seen this problem with wireless.

LEAP 15.1 openSUSE won't install on two-disk system

I seem to have a choice - let SUSE trample all over my Windows system (no thanks) or let the installer **** up and fail.

Basically, the problem seems to be that the installer can't tell the difference between the root disk, and the boot disk. The install wizard wants to trample all over my nvme C: drive. I want to put SUSE on my sda linux disk. But if I use the guided install and tell it to put / on sda, it's also putting EFI (and I presume grub) on sda too, which then gets totally ignored by the laptop, so I have an - I guess - functioning SUSE install but absolutely no way to boot it!

I neither know, nor care, how SUSE installs itself - and don't understand btrfs and all that stuff - so the expert partitioner is both beyond me and I don't particularly want to learn it.

So how do I get a functioning dual boot system that puts SUSE / in the *empty* *space* that I have prepared for it?

LEAP 15.1 How to get most recent Wine install w/out version conflicts?

$

Posting here because gamers seem to be the heaviest wine users. I'm trying to get a tax package working under wine and many suggestions say to use the latest versions. I originally pulled those down individually from software.opensuse.org, but after version problems appeared, I set the repo and used yast. I now have a somewhat newer wine than offered in the distro, but I still have version problems. I can't tell which component is causing trouble. And/or I don't know how to look for any "left overs" from the previous install which may be short circuiting wine.

When run, wine complains as below: (the --xxxx is just a dummy to get the program past the help text which displays if wine finds no arguments)

Code:

rufus@vsl:~/bin> wine --xxxxxxxxx
wine client error:0: version mismatch 573/574.
Your wineserver binary was not upgraded correctly,
or you have an older one somewhere in your PATH.
Or maybe the wrong wineserver is still running?
rufus@vsl:~/bin>

What is wrong with this install? Here is an rpm listing:

Code:

vsl:/home/rufus/bin #
vsl:/home/rufus/bin # rpm -qa | grep wine
wine-doors-0.1.3-1.21.noarch
q4wine-1.3.12-lp151.62.1.x86_64
wine-4.4-lp151.615.6.x86_64
wine-gecko-2.47-lp151.2.1.noarch
winetricks-20191224-lp151.18.1.x86_64
q4wine-lang-1.3.12-lp151.62.1.noarch
wine-mono-4.9.2-lp151.7.1.noarch
wine-staging-32bit-4.4-lp151.615.6.x86_64
vsl:/home/rufus/bin #

Because the version numbers clearly do not adhere to the same versioning scheme, I cannot tell which components of the wine install may be causing the mismatch problem. I had set the repo as below, and from yast changed "mono" which was the only one which appeared to have any likely alternative. However, the problem remains.

Code:

vsl:/home/rufus/bin # zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Emulators/openSUSE_Leap_15.1/Emulators.repo
Adding repository 'Emulators (openSUSE_Leap_15.1)' ....................................................................[done]

Is winetricks possibly a problem?

Thanks for any thoughts,

TUMBLEWEED No protocol specified

After over 15 years of using the stable SUSE/openSUSE distros I installed tumbleweed for the first time a week ago. I find it excellent (not a surprise of course) and perfect for my purposes.

I realized though that a couple of applications I use on a terminal (one of them a GIS program, the other a custom made Perl script that puts color on certain lines) return the message "No protocol specified". Although this is apparently only a warning and no apparent cause of error I wanted to do something to stop this showing.

I understand the issue has to do with .Xauthority and displays but I admittedly have trouble making sense of the many explanations and solutions posted around the internet. In one attempt to solve the issue I added my users to the video group but the problem persists.

Although I can certainly live with this I would appreciate if someone could suggest other potential solutions.

Thanks in advance

TUMBLEWEED Log Into Windows 10 Pro 64Bit Desktop Remotely On Tumbleweed & Display Win 10 Desktop On Tumbleweed?

Hi,

Love openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE 64Bit...
...But still have a need to run Windows 10 Pro 64Bit.

Running Windows in a virtual machine won't work - need graphic hardware acceleration.
I have a test Windows 10 Pro 64Bit desktop here on the same network as my Tumbleweed desktop.

Is there a way to log into the Windows 10 desktop from Tumbleweed desktop & show Win 10 desktop on my Tumbleweed desktop?
Not sure what the above is called so I don't know how to search on Internet for a solution.

Let me know, thanks!

nothing provides gtk-layer-shell-devel

In one of my builds (home:GeoDerp:redflower) I have a package (waybar) that's saying unresolvable on Fedora (29-31).

I'm getting the error: "nothing provides gtk-layer-shell-devel".

This is odd, as I do have that rpm as BuildRequires in the spec file, and, gtk-layer-shell-devel.rpm is being hosted on Fedora's main distro.

Thanks,

TUMBLEWEED Boot takes long when server is off

Hi there,

Took an old machine, installed openmediavault and configured a nfs client via yast on my tumble.
When the server is up and running my tumble boots fine and fast.

When the server is off tumble takes 1.5 minutes to boot due to trying to boot the server as is in /etc/fstab

Is there a possibillity to bring this waiting back to e.g. 10 secs?

LEAP 15.1 laptop won't boot with lid closed after installing nVidia driver

$

DELL Precision M4800 laptop with nVidia GK106GLM [Quadro K2100M] graphics card and external AOC 4K monitor. running OpenSUSE Leap 14.1.
When running with nouveau it would boot with laptop lid closed and external monitor connected, but it would occasionally freeze after a while particularly when the screen saver was active.
Since nouveau is known to have problems with some nVidia cards, I installed nVidia driver using YaST from https://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/leap/15.1.
Now it won't boot with the lid closed. It seems to get to the point where it displays a screen with three green squares on the external monitor and then it should go to the login screen, but instead it goes into some sort of hibernation state from which it can't recover even if I open the lid. If I boot with the lid open, it boots rather more slowly than with nouveau but does come up with the login screen and I can log in and run normally.
I checked the System Settings Power Management behaviour for "When laptop lid closed". It was set to "Suspend" (which I don't think it was before) so I changed to to "Do nothing" for both myself and root, but this didn't help.
I can't even remove the nVidia driver because the on-line instructions for doing so are out of date and the files referred to don't exist on this version of OpenSUSE.
I have a full Hardware Info file, but it's too big to post.
Can anyone help, either to fix the problem or return to the nouveau driver?

LEAP 15.1 Win10 dual boot with Leap 15.1. Were to install grub so win10 will not overwrite grub2?

Hello

Installed win10 first and after that OpenSuse Leap 15.1.
Boot Secure is disabled. Disk is initialized as GPT
First I've installed grub with defaults and result in an own efi boot partition and win10 was not found.
After searching I've found that you must install in win10 efi boot partition...
This worked fine, but after starting one time win10 my grub is overwritten with win10 boot manager or
is this a problem of fast boot of win 10?
I've also noticed that win make 2 efi-boot partition. Which one should be used? The first one (before system partition) of the one after?

Any infos?

BTW: How can I boot my already installed leap 15.1 with the leap rescue cd if I know the root partition?
